Colorado Mountain Dog Pup Info
We sell our Colorado Mountain Dog puppies as working livestock guardians, first and foremost. We strive to breed and raise successful livestock guardians that understand their job and do it well. Our CMD puppies are raised in the goat barn, in a stall next to the does and kids. The stall is made of cattle panels so the puppies are kept safe from being stepped on but they can still hear, smell and see the goats. As they grow bigger, they are allowed more contact with the goats, until eventually they are living with them full time. When our puppies are released at 10 weeks they are already well socialized with goats, horses, poultry, cats, and people (including small children).
We take into consideration temperament, the type of livestock to be guarded and the farm size and setting the dog will work in to ensure the best fit possible for each buyer. We highly recommend two CMD puppies unless you already have LGD’s. Livestock guardians work best in pairs.
Our CMD puppies sell for $1250 each. They are vet checked, vaccinated and microchipped with a lifetime enrollment in Save This Life recovery system. Each litter is registered with the CMDA (Colorado Mountain Dog Association) and are sold with registration papers.
We are currently accepting reservations for our planned Spring / Summer 2023. To reserve a puppy, there is a $250 non-refundable deposit. This puts you on the reservation list (first come / first serve) for your requested gender. Please take a look at our Sales Policy and Puppy Sales Contract.
